Business Transitions
Matrixx Solutions provided two of their experienced Consultants to the lead company: a Programme Manager to manage delivery of the transition, and a Finance Specialist to provide technical support to the lead company’s finance function.
The transition needed to be completed in a very tight timescale, so the Matrixx Programme Manager implemented a structured approach to transfer everything across.
Our Consultant established a clear governance process, enabling senior leaders from both companies to monitor progress of the Transition and make interventions to achieve strategic objectives.
At the announcement of the dissolution, the Joint Venture had live operations ongoing in UK and Azerbaijan. The Programme Manager led a daily meeting to oversee the status of operations and ensure that activities were stopped without impacting other business activities in the countries.
They coordinated and facilitated due diligence workshops on behalf of the second company, to facilitate the transfer of key knowledge and software IP. In addition, they conducted a thorough Retrospective to capture learnings over the life of the Joint Venture, to be used by either party in future.
The Programme Manager introduced simple but clear risk management processes, to identify all risks to delivering the transition. Comprehensive plans were put in place to mitigate them, and the Steering Committee were given oversight of high-impact risks.
The Finance Specialist worked with the lead company’s finance function to ensure that all live financial commitments were either stopped or transferred to the other party, that costs were correctly attributed to each party, and that accounts were appropriately tidied up.
All data, documentation, business processes and relevant knowledge were thoroughly handed over, within the required timescale for completion of 2 months.
