Our client is a global technology company. Their Finance Manager contacted Matrixx Solutions to source two Finance specialists to support them.  

We listened to our client, to fully understand what they were looking for, then started our recruitment process. We used our expertise and connections to source the ideal candidates from across a wide range of people and industries.  

Finance Specialist 1: Bev

The specialist we brought in to do the task had all the specified requirements, and as it turns out, she had additional skills that were later used by the business.  

Our consultant’s primary role was to oversee the company’s finances, including:

• Ensuring the project and deployed technology solution were compliant with required financial controls

• Progressing and delivering investment governance

• Managing billing to the company’s Joint Venture partner

• Conducting business planning, including managing monthly, quarterly and annual cashflow forecasts and conducting associated reporting

• Managing the Purchase Order process for contractor’s and dealing with any issues

The Matrixx Solutions specialist used her expertise to embed robust business processes, which enabled costs to be fully recovered from the Joint Venture partner and the project to remain compliant with the business’ financial controls.

In addition, our specialist also had a very good understanding of how to make business improvements. She was sought out by the Development team to support their Discovery work. Bev acted as a proxy for prospective Finance customers and gave the Product Manager’s constructive feedback about how to improve their technology product.

Unfortunately, one of the major backers of the company decided not to continue investing. So Bev’s role changed: she worked with the finance function to rigorously close out all financial aspects of the business. This included stopping all live financial commitments or transferring them elsewhere, correctly attributing costs to Joint Venture parties, and tidying up accounts.

Finance Specialist 2: David

Matrixx Solutions sourced a finance specialist who was very experienced at creating tailored financial and economic models to support commercial negotiations, business development opportunities, and corporate/ asset economic evaluations.

Over the course of 6 months, our Consultant rewrote the financial model: simplifying it and making it representative for current needs.
